Dr. Candela is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology. After graduating from medical school at the Universidad Central del Este in the Dominican Republic, he completed a combined training program in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita. Thereafter he served in the capacity of a fellow in Surgical Pathology for one year at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut.
